
After reflecting on the fig tree lesson in Matthew 21 for a while, I started to get hungry for figs. Yep, I’m strange like that (smile). Instead of purchasing some fig snacks at the local grocery store, I thought that I would try to make some of my own. That’s probably half bravery and half naiveté.
So I did a little look around and found a recipe from “The Great British Bakeoff Show.” I love the show and during this Covid year, I’ve tried several of Paul Hollywood’s recipes. Since I couldn’t find figs, I used dried cherries and dates – three to one ratio favoring the cherries. When I pureed them, I added pecans, ginger and cinnamon.
